New BoXXER Media Launch

I was invited to the new Rock Shox BoXXer Media Launch to be held in Alicante, Spain. I jumped at the opportunity.
I flew in from home and was greeted at the Airport by Sram personal. Steve Peat had already landed and we headed out of town to a Farm about 40 min outside of Alicante. It’s called Fenasosa, check out http://www.lafenasosa.com/ (Though it’s all in Spanish)
The Sram truck and tent was all setup from the OEM camp that had taken place the week before. We arrived just in time for lunch and what a lunch it was. We ate like kings the entire week.
The plan was to ride with 2 groups of 6 Media personal for 2 days each. Peaty, Morland and myself proceeded to check out the riding after lunch and get a feel for what tracks to ride. The are 7 DH tracks at the moment and plans to build more. There is a cool 4x track and some freeride drops at the bottom of the hill. There is also a Dirt jump park which was a bit wet as they have had quite a bit of rain.

The next few days were very enjoyable. The media guys choose bikes which were provided by Sram and kitted with the new BoXXer. We took them out and tried some different settings on the Fork. After another great lunch, we did some runs and coaching on different sections. I was a bit nervous about this, but it was a great experience and fun to help the riders understand what Top Racers look at when they ride a track. Sram/RS threw a great party at the other house on the farm. It was named the Cosi and for good reason. The doorways seemed to be made for a 4 foot person. Great dinner, Pool, Fooz Ball and drinks flowed throughout the night. We repeated this for the next set of guys that arrived. It was an awesome experience and I think everyone had a great time and rode a great fork. I think Griz summed it up. ” sometimes I get so DRUNK on FUN” Thanks to Brian, Elmar, Peaty, Tyler, Mike, Martin, and everyone at Sram that put this event together.
